Noise

Sound level surveys are conducted to identify locations in your facility where noise levels may exceed the OSHA Action Level or Permissible Noise Exposure. A Type I Precision Sound Level Meter is used to measure workplace noise at key worker locations and identify potential employee expousres. The sound level survey is usually conducted in conjunction with audiodosimetry. Personal audiodosimeters are worn by the individual employees to measure a full-shift exposure to noise for comparison to the OSHA standard. Our state of the art dosimeters are Casella CEL-350 units that are shoulder mounted and cable free. At less than 2.4 ounces, they are much more acceptable to employees than the older bulky style with cables that can get caught on machinery. After the survey, a final report is prepared that provides the results of the noise survey and recommendations for any further action necessary.
